Description:
'Canstar' is moderately resistant to Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. pisi , susceptible to Mycosphaerella pinodes and resistant to powdery mildew ( Erysiphe polygoni ).
Origin & Breeding History: 'Canstar' originated from the cross 'DS Stalworth' x 'Aladin', made at Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada Research Station in Morden, Manitoba in 1995. 'Canstar' was developed by using a pedigree breeding method in combination with single seed descent. It was entered in the 2001-2002 Field Pea Cooperative Test-B as entry MP1814.
