Different Uses Of The Harvested Marijuana Buds

Harvesting cannabis is all about timing. The Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content, the weight of the buds and the flavour and the texture of the smoke, all these depends on the time of harvesting. The marijuana grower should pay special attention to the pollination, harvesting and the curing phases of marijuana cultivation to get the best marijuana buds.

Drying and Curing of marijuana buds

After harvesting cannabis, you need to dry and cure the marijuana. Drying is done to get rid of all the moisture content in the buds, which will reduce the chances of mould formation. Curing marijuana involves the process of decarboxylation. Decarboxylation is the process through which the Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) in the marijuana buds becomes THC. These buds should be stored in a clean and airtight glass jars.

Marijuana cigarettes

This conversion is important to make the marijuana more strong and to give it that characteristic smell and flavour ideal for making marijuana cigarettes. The process is very similar to that of tobacco curing and involves slow and controlled oxidation and decarboxylation of THCA to THC. There are different curing methods like air curing, heat curing and even water curing.

Marijuana for cooking

The cannabis is also used for making brownies, cakes, candies, etc and is said to produce the same effect of euphoria from marijuana cigarettes. Cannabis oil can be used for cooking as well as other industrial applications like for making paints, plastics, lubricants, etc.

You can boil the cannabis leaves in water for a while and then remove the leaves. The water can then be used for cooking. Cannabis flour is used as a recipe as well for making cakes and brownies.

Industrial hemp

The marijuana is used for various industrial purposes. The marijuana seeds, fibre, oil, etc all have industrial uses. For industrial use, different nations have kept different standards for the minimum THC content permitted in the material. This is to avoid all the possibilities of the industrial marijuana being transferred for recreational use.

The marijuana fibre is used to make ropes, plywood, plastics and other composites. The cannabis oil is also added to bio fuels. The cannabis flower oil is used as an ingredient in perfumes.

As you can see medicinal and recreational are not the only uses of marijuana. There are many other uses for marijuana, for which you can supply the weed from your farm.
