“I can say I’ll probably have fewer patients but there are still medical patients that really need a lot of education,” Dr. Auld said.
First, though, activists need to get 225,000 signatures just to get the courts to review it to decide if it can even be placed on the ballot.

She admits legalizing marijuana recreationally could cost her some patients; she still supports the idea.
The constitutional amendment being proposed would allow those 21 and older to grow their own marijuana. But it could only be grown inside a locked room.
In 2016, 70 percent of voters approved a constitutional use of medical marijuana. Polls now show more than half of voters support recreational use, however, it would take 60 percent of voters to get the measure passed.

In Florida, the crime of Cultivation of Cannabis is a Third Degree Felony punishable by up to five (5) years in prison, five (5) years of probation, and a $5,000 fine.
It is an affirmative defense to the crime of Cultivation of Cannabis if you can prove that you did not know the plants you were growing were cannabis plants. Because knowledge is an affirmative defense, you would be required to testify a lack of knowledge of the substance’s illegal nature.

Penalties for Cultivation of Cannabis
If the cannabis was found in a place where more than one person had access, the prosecutor would have to comply with the law of constructive possession, which requires the prosecutor to prove the following two elements to convict a person of Cultivation of Cannabis:
